So, I have Jury Duty tomorrow (and hopefully not much after), and of course no camara phones.

I was so looking foward to watching some avi's listening to some mp3, reading some emails on my 650.

But nooooooo, now I have to revert back to the treo 270 (for emails) and an early axim (for wvm and mp3).

    How will I survive????

I'm with you Filipe! I left mine in the car during a wedding ceremony this weekend. I was running late, so while I was only 50 feet away, I made the conscious decision to leave it. When I went out to retrieve it part way into the reception, I was ashamed in the realization that it was the longest I'd ever been without it (60 min.).

It may be less painless to write the judge in an effort to defer your service.

well if you got the treo 270, and the Axim with TCPMP, all you are missing is EDGE speed.

Treo 270... i'm surpized there's one with a flip that is still attached! I blew through 4 180's and 270's b/c of the crappy flips.

When I was last on jury duty a few months ago I alternately toted my laptop and used my blackberry. At least now there's wifi access at some of the NY courthouses,I believe jurors can use with a daily access fee,I didn't pay per day (my old firm has a monthly plan with the provider),but I did see plenty of people in downtime (which is often your whole jury service) using the service...especially since most people had their cell phones confiscated...

yeah, only missing edge, but not really. i basically just check my mail (not much web surfing). On my 650, I check a bunch of account but with the 270 I am only checking 2: work and another.

I just installed verichat for chatting.

as for the axim, I can beleve u cant turn off the screen while listening to mp3. if you do, the music stops.

As for movies, the bigger screen is great. but I dont think it would work for a treo (it would need to be igger, not sure i want that).

I had 3 270. I replaced one because it wouldnt do the gprs upgrade, another (just b4 the 600), when the screen cracked.

I never had a broken lid, or ever saw any stress cracks. i think that was because i dont press the lid to my ear it is barel touching the ear when I am using the phone to talk.

i used the stylus more these past two days than i have in the past year with the 650.

hmm. im serving in the new court house in brooklyn (the place is a fridge). I dont know if they have wi-fi available, but i do have an add on card for the axim.

I have a laptop, but I dont feel like taking it with me.

there is way too much downtime. the past two days we have heard maybe 3-4 hours of testimony.

I think the courts in Manhattan have the wifi.

You are right, there is way too much downtime.I didn't want to lug it either (lug as if the laptop was that heavy),but I'm one of those people who has difficulty remaining idle, even when on vacation.I served for two weeks a few months ago,and after all that, the person decided to take a plea !
