Well, Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny, anyway.

(If Cobalt follows the record of earler Palm OS versions, it will leave all kinds of orphan appls in its wake.)

Do not know. However, I have long since given up trying to upgrade to a new operating system on old hardware. My time is too valuable (at least in terms of alternative use.)

It actually has nothing to do with the amount of 'ram' but the size of the 'rom'! Having said that, I don't know if anyone (other than Palm obviously) knows whether the 650 could be upgradeable to Cobalt or not. However, even if it was, it would be completely carrier dependent since it is they not Palm that would release or at least 'allow' the update on the devices. In this regard, I highly doubt this would ever happen unfortunately...

I've never heard of a major OS upgrade on smart devices, so my guess is even if it was, we would not be told how to do it or given the patch. Otherwise they wouldn't get as much money out of us.

I know it's not a Palm device, but just look at the PPC6700 coming out. I think the only dif b/w that and the PPC6600 is EVDO and WM5. Granted, EVDO is a pretty big plus, but I don't think they will uprade any 6600 owners. I could be wrong though...
