You can quickly tell by the keys on the front, or the camera/speaker on the back.

The green and red keys are different and the speaker is square v. round.

Our company receptionist uses a 650 from Sprint...she doesn't even no its potential and how to tap in it. Her husband makes out good, so its a bling thing for her amongst other goodies she has that pisses off all of the women who hate on her in the office...now they all want Treos . Being unique with a treo is a thing of the past. I use to be the only one with a Treo in a company full of Top Heavies with Blackberrys.

I'm continually amazed by the number of people I run into that have 650s which are many months old yet still look factory fresh in terms of applications. They buy this $600 phone and then use the same way they would the free-phone-of-the-week from <insert favorite service provider here>. Everytime I'm watching movies with TCPMP on a plane, inevitably at the end of the flight someone within spitting distance will whip out their Treo and ask: "Hey, can I do that on my phone too?". I really shouldn't be shocked by all this. I just get spoiled hanging out here with the Treo Intelligentsia at TC.

This doesn't surprise me at all. If I weren't a TC junky, I wouldn't know about half of the things this 'great gadget' is capable of doing. The manual doesn't tell you everything.

I understand that. But... if you're not gonna go for the cool stuff why plop down $500-$600 on a fancy whiz-bang gizmo. Just take the freebie flip phone.

Are Treos the traveler's preferred device?

I just returned from a short business trip to New Orleans and while traveling in the airport and on the airplanes I saw many mobile devices. The funny thing is that something like 95% of the devices I saw and heard (that default ring is distinctive) were Treo devices.

It seems that most of the traveler's I saw using Treos were using Treo 650 devices so I think there is definitely still a market for Palm OS devices. I also believe these same type of buyers may enjoy using a device like the Nokia E61 that offers a similar user interface (and isn't sold with a Microsoft operating system), but supports higher functions like true multitasking, quick application switching, integrated WiFi and more. Nokia and the Series 60/Symbian OS need to do a better job of getting devices into the U.S. and marketing these devices to compete with the BlackBerry and Treo business user before I see Nokia E61 type devices on the road.

Correct on all counts. The blue 650 is Sprint.

The Providers called Sprint...and all I see is blue from Sprint since I am in the U.S. unless I see one from Verizon or Cingular.
