The only problem I have with the Amoi G6301 (exluding the OS) is the keyboard layout...I'd prefer it to look like the Sharp Zaurus C3100's keyboard.

Hmm...why didn't it display the images instead of the links? I used the IMG tag...

    Oh well.

i think it is a given that the next sprint version will have evdo. I think it is also a given that the processor would be better/faster.

I finally voted. after looking at the treo 650 I dont have a must have list. everything i want/need are tweaks.

I would like thinner and no antenna. I definately want upgraded bluetooth, just so I can get stereo.

a second sd card slot would be yummy.

I'm not affected by the memory issues like others, but more memory is always better.

With the samsung i730 as a guide, wifi/evdo is a killer on the battery. Im not sure i want to sacrifice battery for wifi.

palm should look at the most popular third party tweaks, and but those business out business. mp3 ringers, volume care, a push email client.

Wow, perfect proportion. <3 <3 <3!! I like it even more than the Sharp c3100!! <3

The Sharp and the new HTC phone are kind of too wide to hold

    EVDO for obvious reasons.
Updated OS, hopefully that would speed things up if it were multi threaded.
faster processor would also be nice (if it didnt kill the battery too much).
a slightly smaller form factor would be great too, i think they have room to shave a few mm of every side (depth and legnth would be the 2 most important for me).

and something i will never get...a left handed version.

Umm...what exactly would a left-handed Treo look like?? The D-pad is in the center. The green and red phone buttons are exactly like every other cell phone in the world!

LOL, maybe moving the antenna over to the right instead of the left

Being a lefty I've never understood some of the complaints from my fellow "leftys" .

I mean my issues with being left handed ended in about 2nd grade when they used to give me the scissors to cut paper that had "LEFT" inscribed on them and a dumb teacher that tried to force me to "write right". In time I learned to use right handed scissors and managed to write well enough to finish undergrad and graduate school. I think if there was less "catering" to left handed folks in the early years we would learn to adjust faster. And IMHO in elementary school there is way too much catering for every little freakin' thing. I think it makes for more of a hindrance than benefit.

Bottom line most people are right handed, so yea it's practical to design things with them in mind. Practical is not always fair, but it sure is the best option from a financial standpoint.

And so I have no freakin' CLUE what a left handed Treo would look like and I don't think I'd buy it.

Pretty sure it looks like what you're holding in your left hand.

More memory isnt that far ahead of EVDO, bluetooth improvements and OS upgrade! I guess we want it all!!!

But not me,,,,,Im not sure what evdo is (faster network or something) but I heard it drains the battery very quickly)

And what are we talking about OS upgrade? OS 6? I havent seen any applications saying "OS 6 enhanced".

Antenna on the right and stylus on the left.

I have no problems with the current placement of things on the Treo. Most devices have things that way. I don't see a problem and would probably have more issues if they changed it given I am used to the way things are now.

If anyone starts a "Left Handed Treo Now" group I will start a "Lefties against Treo Change" group to counter you .

I say to disgruntled lefties, make your own device and see how many sales you get .

Yes we do. I'll be happy with the 650 until every last one of those things are worked out. I could keep the Treo for another 2 or 3 years and be perfectly content.

Just about everything on that list is a hit to battery life...excluding the form factor obviously (well...even that might too if you took the antenna off...you'd prolly get a lesser strength signal and leak the battery faster).

Preferably Palm Linux...but that definitely ain't happenin' this next upgrade. And it seems unlikely that Palm would put Cobalt in a device...ESPECIALLY A PHONE FIRST...when Garnet is doing just fine for now.

BTw, I voted for more memory. 32mb is just silly, perhaps Palmone's idea of a practicle joke. Even my tiny little Japanese mp3 player has 128mb.

Does your tiny little Japanese mp3 player have an expansion slot to add an extra 2 gigs of RAM?? Can your Japanese mp3 player play OGG files...thereby giving you the EQUIVALENT of 4 gigs of mp3s, even though it's only 2 gigs of oggs. You've gotta admit that your phone is much better than an iPod mini!

We all know exactly what Bison is saying grandslam. It is a joke that the Treo has such a small amount of memory. The Treo was behind what was expected as far as RAM.

Yes, and it's an MPIO, not an overpriced ipod. And since I don't know what the heck OGG is that doesn't count.
