That IS what I did, followed these instructions to the letter:

    To get Voice Mail
    Create a quick dail button
enter the phone number of another sprintpcs phone pre-fixed by 11
    11***-***-****

the click on the more button
    Enter these extra digits
,***"you phone number" # "you access code"

Now you can listen to you Voicemail for free, and even call for free.

Maybe they've blocked it somehow? Is this working for everyone else? The message I get is "The number or code you dialled is incorrect, message 143-7"
even if I dial the number w/o the extra digits.

    Try it manually

    enter 11
    Another person sprint phone number

    Wait for their voice mail

    Press *
It will ask for thier passcode
    Press *
It will ask for your mailbox number

    enter it

    see if that works

Nope, doesn't work and I get the same error message. My girlfriend tried it calling my phone and she got the same error message only the code was 740-7 instead of 143-7. I tried calling another Sprint customer and I get the same stinking error message. I really appreciate the help with this.

There was a discussion on both Sprint User's Forum (SU) and Sprint PCS Information Forum (SPI) quite a while ago about this. The comments from techs were that it only works with some of the switches Sprint uses (they trashed Moto's, if I remember), so only in some areas. There are other tricks along the same line, but are switch-dependent. Do a search on SU's site or SPI's for more info.
