    Hi all,

This is my first time posting here. I don't own a trio but I did stay up late reading the post about Shadowmite trying to get us wifi. I don't really know if this has been posted before, I did a search and did not see it, so I thought I would let you guys know.

Shadowmite has been mentioned and praised in the May 2005 issue of Popular Science. He has been recognized for his Bluetooth DUN on page 94. Pretty Cool. Congrats Shadowmite!

Sorry if this has been posted before.

    Sincerely,
    Asainthug9

have a look here about wifi:
    http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...ad.php?t=64490

(it is on top of the list of the T650 forum, a little searching would have showed you it with less then a minutes work.
We do encourage people to look around first and/or use the search feature. otherwise the forums clog up with the same questions all over again)

WiFI wasn't the main point of the post. It was to point out that Shadowmite had been recognized in the May 2005 issue of Popular Science. I hardly think that is "clogging up the forums"!

Actually, if you read the guys post a little more carefully, it sounds like he stayed up late reading the thread that you claim he didn't search for. He was just trying to let people know (which I'm thinking a bunch of people didn't) that Shadowmite was in Popular Science.

Apparently it's not only TC members that like to jump the gun on newbies.

congratulating shadowmite was clearly the point in this thread.
wifi was merely mentioned as a peripheral here. there is no clogging going on here. sheesh!

Actually he may be in a different timezone alltogether (given the name and the spelling mistakes)
He was trying to say shadowmite was in PC indeed, if he didnt and had just asked about the wifi this thread would be closed by now.

I merely pointed out that finding this the thread was very easy (you allmost trip over it when you enter the t650 forum) so I highlighted the need for a bit (better) research.

Not sure what you're trying to point out about the timezone, he stated himself that he stayed up late.

What's your point about the Wifi thread though? Are you saying that he should have posted his find in the Wifi Thread?

I wasn't asking about wifi, I was simply stating that I know of Shadowmite because of reading those threads late into the night.... a long time ago.

This post was suppose to tell people that Shadowmite was acknowledge in Pop Sci.

Knowing how much forum members love to attack newbies on repeated posts, I apologized ahead of time about a possible reposting of "old news". But you guys sure do analyze everything, my name is not spelled wrong either; it was intentional (I'm sure someone will then point out my incorrect grammar).

In the end, its about Shadowmite in PopSci! Let's all do away with this.

    Congrats to Shadowmite.

No worries bub, I'm not attacking you. I understood your post and realized what the point behind it was. I was trying to find out why toolkit was "suggesting" you do a better search. Still haven't figured that one out.

I wouldn't worry about your spelling. Toolkit had a few grammatical and spelling errors himself. (ie. "It would take less 'THAN' a minutes work," not THEN. And almost only has one "l", not two.)

It's always great when a person knocks someone else's spelling/grammar and has mistakes of their own.

No worries, then I interpreted your post wrong. I read it as 2 fold: 1)being the news of shadowmite in PS 2) asking about info on Wifi.

FWIW I wasn't knocking you spelling/grammar, just thinking you might be located in asia given your username and some spelling errors.
I don't expect anybody to speak perfect english, especially not people who are not native speakers (like myself).

asainthug9, thanks for you post....I thought your message and intent were very clear.

    shadowmite, congrats...great job!

toolkit....as a moderator, I feel you should be held to a higher standard, and therefore be more careful before you flame a poster. You should be setting the example. This type of posting only adds to the ever growing fire that T|C has become. Too many people here are TOO QUICK to point out each others mistakes and transgressions. Too many people respond without actually READING a given post/thread. The direction this forum seems to be heading in is going to be a "posting review" scenario, where all new posts have to be cleared by a moderator. Won't that be fun.

Please re-read your post. Was it really all that friendly? It really does come across as an attack.

Would that be the Queen's English, Toolkit, or that bastardized (bastardised?) version us Yanks speak?

"My remark wasnt "ment"as a flame, just a friendly reminder"

    - toolkit

toolkit, master speller, tell me how we spell the word, meant. is it m-e-a-n-t? or is it m-e-n-t?

    please, this is ridiculous.

and your reminder was more of an attack than a reminder...
if you're going to be a mod, you really should show quite a bit more discretion than what's been displayed here.
.. quit while you're ahead here. you're wrong. that's it. enough said.

congratulations to shadowmite - this is an individual who surely deserves the recognition! he's done a great deal to help us here at treocentral.
