Has anyone noticed that the status light on the Treo 600 (not sure on the 650) is an upside down cross?? An upside down cross symbolizes the mockery and rejection of Jesus. Thought is was wierd that Palmone would make such a symbol on their phone.

Not everyone is christian and not everyone knows about such things. I doubt Pa1mOne intended to make any kind of symbol

Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?

Well, obviously it would be hard to take a pic of, since the light flashes so quick (maybe a video capture would work). But yeah, it's an upside-down cross, yeah, I've pondered it too, and no, I don't think that it's a secret message against Christians or anything such.

I take it you listen to records backwards looking for hidden messages as well

No sense being pessimistic, it probably wouldn't work anyway

Its an optical illusion. I've taken the face plate off of my old 600. Its the shape of the plastic lens. The lens is maybe an eighth of an inch deep, and there is a groove that runs along the lower edge. It defracts the LED, but I doubt very much it is intentional.

It's actually an arrow pointing down (towards the screen).

I thought there was an anti-Christ undercurrent to PalmOne!

Just kidding, it is an arrow. I am just frustrated with my Treo 650 right now.

that might explain why the 650 doesnt work.

I think some people have waay too much time on their hands. Sounds like the same people who swear Proctor and Gamble's corporate symbol represents the devil, or some such. I used a 600 for more than a year, and never even noticed that the LED had any particular shape at all.

When Palm introduces the Treo 666, then maybe you should start to worry.

I remember this came up a long time ago.

Here's one of the threads from 2003:
