Thanks to the wonderful people here on the forums I've learned so much, gotten so much more out of my 600 and now my new 650. And I've also saved tons of cash. I wanted to thank everyone who has helped. Thanks!

How did I save almost $1000?

Thread: I Found the Best Deal on a Treo 650
    http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...ad.php?t=61814

$100 realtor bonus credit on 650 (no need to wait for rebates)
$240 realtor 20% discount off $50 a month service over 2 year contract
$360 realtor free unlimited internet (normally $15 a month) over 2 year contract
$ 90 (they claim it's worth $90 anyway) worth of free accessories

    --
UPDATE: I just got my accessories. They are a joke. I'm happy with the 20% discount and free unlimited vision, so it's not like I wouldn't do the deal again.

But, seriously, the case is going right in the trash. You have to struggle to get it to snap closed, but I wouldn't do that if I were you because the back of the snap is right over the screen and at least on mine it is hard and sharp. It would only take ONE snapping of this case to DESTROY the screen.

The headphones I'll keep in my glove box in case I forget to bring some with me, but they are 99 cent store quality.

As for the car charger I'm throwing that out, too. There is no way I'm plugging that flimsy junk into my $600 treo. No way. If anyone has had the balls to actually plug theirs in, I'd like to give you a medal of bravery.

I don't know what MJ spent on these "accessories", but I bet it cost more to mail them ($1.55 via USPS). I think it said $90 value on his site. Yeah, not quite.

I'm not pissed, but man, I'm dissapointed, especially after waiting more than a month. I guess I should have figured as much.

Thread: Free P1 128 meg SD Card

$39 128 meg SD card (okay, I know, more like $8, but palm claims it's worth $39)

Thread: Free Handango Software for New Sprint 650's
    http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...ad.php?t=73618

$100 free overpriced software. I was like a kid in an overpriced candy store. Very exciting! I actually got a really cool program called Bhajis Loops for writing multi track music on the 650. Very, very cool. Not for music novices. It's a powerful program. I still haven't quite figured it all out yet.

So there you have it. $929 and a whole lot of fun.

    Thanks everybody!

    Add another $30.

I can't believe they'll let you refer yourself. But they will and then give you $30 to spend at the palm store for the 5 minutes it takes to fill out the form.

Gee, I wonder if we can all refer each other? IOW, can we get credit for referring someone who's already been referred by someone else?

No. Once a phone has been used in a referal, it can't be used again. I think most people will just end up refering themselfs, then going to the palm store and realizing there's nothing you really want to buy there. The prices are so over the top that the $30 is really only like $10 in the real world. IMO.

I just referred myself, and my points are "pending" now. I want to buy the Printboy software for $39, which is the same price on the developer's webpage. So assuming my points are validated, I get a $30 discount and the the software is then $10. Cool.

How long for points to move from "pending" to available?

Never mind, the confirmation email answered my question" "Your palmOne Bucks will appear in the Pending category of your palmOne Wallet until 7pm ET of the following business day. Your palmOne Bucks will then be moved into your Current Balance so that you can spend them at the Palm Store or at prominent online retailers like Amazon.com, The Sharper Image, RedEnvelope, Staples®, Fandango, and United®."

They sent me an email saying I could use the points as of the next night.

Are you going to use Printboy with BT or IR?

Whichever printer is cheaper. After I get Printboy, I am going to look for a cheap printer which has good document print quality to keep in a small bag in my car. My plan is to be able to:

    1. Use Windhand or Sprint's Bizconn to retrieve a file from my desktop;
    2. Make edits to the document using the Treo and my external keyboard (which arrives tomorrow. Hurry!)
    3. Print out a final document on the IR or BT printer.
    4. Justify the additional tech-expenses to my wife!

I used the palmOne bucks to get a $25 Amazon gift certificate. So $25 instead of $30 but I used the $25 Amazon gift certificate to buy the InnoPocket Treo 650 Metal Deluxe Case. $19.97 from pdaplanetmn on the Amazon market place. Then there is $4.50 shipping. Grand total is just under the $25. Cost to me: $0 And I've seen the case go for thirty bucks plus shipping elsewhere. Not too shabby!

Click "See all buying options". I bought mine from pdaplanetmn because his shipping was I think 50 cents less.

It arrived in 3 days and as the TC review says, it's a beauty.

What did you decide? I'm seriously looking but at this price level I'd like to avoid as many mistakes as possible.
    Thanks
