    I read on CNET it records mpeg and they even have a video on an interview with a Palm rep and he said the same thing. Is this true? Cause I know my Sprint version records in 2gp format which really sucks since it can only be played with a newer version of Quicktime.

    Treo uses .3gp but I believe this makes some use of the M-peg4 encoder.

    3GPP is basically mpg, just formated into Quicktime format. 3GPP is a fromat lisenced by Apple that is optimal for mobile streaming fyi. Thus it should be simple to convert 3GPP to mpg and etc...
