The prolog of this story has nothing to do with the Treo.

I have VOIP (voice over IP) service for my home. It comes with voice mail. The voice mail can be configured to email the voice mail.

    This is the Treo part:

When that email shows up on my treo the sound is there. It is in an attachment. I can't listen to it. The attachment is a very long file name, ending in .wav. When I click on the attachment it says "transferring" and then it says "Error: (0x2A13)"

This makes me sad. I'm 'this close' to not having to use the cell company voice mail at all!

    Suggestions?

Sounds like you need an app like mVoiceMail

mVoiceMail enables you to play the voice mail messages that you receive attached to the regular e-mails on your Treo 600.
mVoiceMail is optimized for companies and organizations that have set up the forwarding of voice mail messages to their employees e-mail accounts.

I have VOIP and can listen to the wav files on my Treo no problem - ptunes deluxe plays them.
