Has anyone tried the GPS add ons available for Treo 300 & Treo 600?

I'm terrible with directions and maps and like the idea of getting a relatively inexpensive ($199) GPS add on system with voice driving directions.

Please let me know your experience with these GPS add ons.

    Thanks,

    Howard

Hi go to igolftech.com. Also do a search for igolf on this site. The unit is now 6 weeks behind it's release date. It will fit into the sd slot and does not need cables, it will have voice prompts, but you will need an inexpensive software upgrade from mapopolis. Mapopolis also has software that will work on the treo 600 with the igolf unit to give you eateries, hotels, gas statiuons, points of interest in the area.

Another thing it will work anywhere you can drive. So if you want it for a walking tour of a city it will work. My intension was to try it this past 5 days, dec 21 to dec 25th on a trip to vegas. I was going to try finding the casinos off the strip from the ones on the strip.

However six weeks late and a dozen assurances form ioglf and still no unit. They also should be more forthcoming with info. For the most part, I have to call them for details, they have not sent out much in way of emailed info to us. Take care, Jay

PS. As soon as I get it ai will let evey one else know about it, so keep watching this site! Trust me I understand about having a very bad sence of direction. I can ge tlost in y own house and not because it is big!....Jay

Thanks for the GPS information so far.

I hope that we hear a review from someone that owns one of these units.

As for me I have a Treo 300 that is less than a year old. When the price falls on the 600, I'll buy in.

It looks like the voice promted driving directions may only work with the $299.00 Treo 600 GPS unit.

I would still like to hear more thoughts on these units.

    Thanks,

    Howard
