    Hi,

I like my Treo's LED which tells me instantly if my radio is on and if it has signal without having to turn the device on.

But there could be more information encoded in the LED's color or flashing frequency: e.g. for missed calls or unread SMS.

Is there a hack available to get such a feature?
Otherwise see it as a suggestion for programmers who may read along.

Poll: Who would be interested in a hack?

There are no such hacks. I think LED control is not accessible to the OS.

I read the developer info on this. The LED is only available to the OS when the radio is off. Hence, it's quite useless.

Do you know if the same holds true for the Treo 600?

    No idea.

So Handspring is asked to customize their firmware.
However, I do not really expect any firmware upgrade for Treo <600.
