    Hello -

I can't get any phone service on my Treo. It's unlocked, and has the Cingular icon in the menu. If I tap on it, or try to use the phone, I get the flip animation and the phone searched forever for a network. I'm trying to us the phone, not the e-mail or browser.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks for your help!

Try running the radio reset file found here:

    - did not work. I'm so bummed. Should I upgrade to GPRS 1.1.2 (if it has anything to do with it?)?

    Thanks!

BTW, isn't GPRS for Internet/e-mail purposes? If so, what's it got to do with the regular phone service?

Does your treo even have the gprs software on it? It can't hurt to run the 1.1.2 upgrade as it flashes the rom and upgrades the radio software adding the Cingular carrier specifics.

The GPRS update to 1.1.2 fixed it!!! I now have a phone again. Now we'll see if I like this little gizmo...

    Thanks for your help!

BTW - the update has carrier-specific information, which seems to be the problem I had all along.
