LowEndMac.com has published a couple of articles on Palm today. One was originally published in 2007 and the other is new. A piece on Handspring is forthcoming.

    Links:

A History of Palm, Part 1: Before the PalmPilot | Low End Mac

A History of Palm, Part 2: Palm PDAs and Phones, 1996 to 2003 | Low End Mac

Dan Knight has also created a Palm OS User Group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1574006749575467/

Good read -- thank you for sharing!

    Part 3 is now up:

Note: these articles are webOS Web browser friendly too, which is nice.

I did not think Part 4 was as good as the other 3 parts since it read more like a Palm device list Wikipedia page. Amazing how many different devices they came out with over the years...

Now we can see the true reason why Palm failed -- according to Part 5, Pre only had 256 **KB** of RAM:

    Palm Pre:
500 MHz ARM Cortex 8+ processor,
    3.1″ screen,
    3.2 MP camera,
    256 KB RAM,
    ...
and the Palm Pre Plus only had 512 **KB** of RAM:

    Palm Pre Plus:
    512 KB RAM,
    ...

Yes, article should have said MB instead of KB.
