But it's very possible to release an android phone that is preloaded with software to emulate the historical PDAs. Call it Palm and sell it cheap for stocking stuffers. Boo for us - unless it turns out to be hardware worthy of importing luneOS or alt. Imagine someone finally answering the portrait slider void. Too good to be true.

“Smart move.” Now I think it's legit, and it is indeed a smart move.

Finally, I guess I'd prefer a "mynewhandspring.com" domain. Palm wouldn't have been the same without handspring's talents and creativity.

There's a "Chinese trail" that may hint in Alcatel direction: mynewpalm.com page has Big5 charset declared. As there is no text on page, it's probably just webdesigner's default. Big5 is standard for Traditional Chinese -- used out of mainland China: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau. TCL Communications, owner of Alcatel brand, is -- as ederic pointed -- Chinese company listen on Hong Kong Stack Exchange...

I hope I'm wrong but I think Palm will be used like Polaroid, Singer, and Bell & Howell- to name a few - are today. Instant name recognition but nothing relevant to the original companies products.

    (Not news)

    Aw.

This appears to be a move by Allcatel to get some brand recognition on their line of clones. Sonic, Pop, and Evolve?? Bleh. And seems they a already have a Pixi!

They have a lot of hardware with that lame one touch brand. In US it appears to be distributed mainly through t-mo?

T-mo could use the pre3 and veer hardware on h+ network now. Wouldn't that be an impressive twist on events?

This is intriguing but I have yet to see anything to get excited about. I can't believe no one has any secret information on this site. Is wikileaks still a thing? Lol

Funny what will come up in search results:

The more we discover, the less excited I get. I think we got our hopes up way too high.

We'll need to contact them soon if we are to preserve the old @Palm twitter feed. They need to rename the account to something like @old_palm rather than going in and deleting all the content

I think the same thing and also thought about Bell & Howell! I just figured not many people would remember the name from what... The 60's? Sad end to Palm if it goes that way...

'New from Palm, just spray it and seal it! And if you buy now, we will throw in a second can for free. Just pay exorbitant shipping and outrageous handling. But act fast!'
