after reading that article it still sounds like Ray Lane is the man in charge and making a colossal cluster funk, not the current CEO or anyone else from the board, there was another big article a while back that made it front page which suggested the same thing.
meg or anyone else wont make any "saving" moves for HP because their not the ones in charge tbh.

Funny, even before I read the article and it's mention of Agilent, I have figured the only way to save HP is if they treat their divisions as spin-offs. The problem with that is that those divisions would like most large companies, go to war against each other and make things worse.
It could work, but they would need a 1) strong leader, 2) a good internal sales person to sell... , 3) a vision of how to proceed and succeed and 4) he smarts to get there. But I don't think there is anyone left there to fill that role. All the smart people caught the rooftop helicopters a long time ago.
