    It's why i've never understood why people here merely expected HP to sit and take large losses for years on end to grow a platform. That's not something they do. If it didn't work it was getting downsized or dropped. They've always axed things that don't work well. Plus they were not in the best financial shape so they were even less inclined then normal.

    I think the comments since around july 2010 were a little something like this:
    1: HP has scale
    2: HP has deep pockets
    3: HP has global reach
    4: HP is imbedded deep in the enterprise
    5: Comapred to Apple, HP is the 800 pound gorilla in the room

    It's too bad the gorilla wet his pants.

    Said by me before the webos part deux last year: All battle plans seem sound until they make first contact with the enemy.
