    From Samsung's blog: Samsung confirms it will not buy HP’s computer business

    "The recent rumors that Samsung Electronics will be taking over Hewlett-Packard Co.'s personal computer business are not true.

    We hope this clarifies any confusion that may have occurred."

    The Personal Systems Group is the business unit who is in charge of webOS.

    It is rare for a company to issue a release that they are not doing something.

    That post leaves licensing/other kind of agreement with webOS much more open, I think.

    title needs a change (Personal Systems Group). WebOS is just a small part of it.

    The title correctly reflects that Samsung is not going to buy the Personal Systems Group which includes webOS, tablets, etc. That is how it has an impact on us.

    webOS represents 10% of the PSG workforce.

    what a company says and what it does are two different things
    @agentmock

    Audiovox SMT5600 (WM) --> Cingular 8125 (WM) --> Sprint Mogul 8525 (WM) --> Palm Pre (webOS)- --> Sprint Franken Pre2 (webOS) + 32gb Touchpad (webOS)

    We will have to agree to disagree. The Samsung item talks about their interest in purchasing the PSG, which says nothing about their interest in webOS.

    Buying HP PC business, spend a lot of money, or license HP WebOS, become exclusive partner and have all the benefits (HP backing Samsung in the lawsuits) and Samsung has a winner.

    Not sayings it happening, but it is possible he said that just to throw us off.

    Palm still have a big patent holding --- which multiple parties were interested last year.
