Does any know how to fix this?
Sounds to me like the dreaded Radio Needs to be Reset. Check some of the other descriptions here on the board (that's what happened to mine, and how). First they'll send you the radio reset files, which may or may not work. Then they'll replace it. Personally, I would fight them about the $25 [overnight] return fee...

    Treo 270:

    - #1: Battery dead (would not charge) out of the box
    - #2: Screen backlight dead after 3 weeks
    - #3: Full battery would switch off device without any possibility to turn it back on without plugging in it to electrical outlet for a couple of second. Looses all its data
    - #4: OK for more than a month. GPRS upgarde OK. Cross finger and touch wood...

    No problems whatsoever.

    Treo 270

#1 Screen Problem (component inside pressing on screen causing a lighter circle in the middle of screen)

#2 Screen Problem (same exact thing except a little smaller)

#3 Sent a "used" Treo (complete with smears, smudges, and cookie crumbs)

#4 So far so good (to me it's perfect but I'm reserving judgement for a month), they finally had to send me a completely new one instead of the "replacements" that they normally box up and ship - I had to just switch the Treos out and annotate the box.

300 for almost a week. No problem with the phone.

first 180 g went deaf (dead speakerphone) after 3 months.
second 180 g went deaf after 3 months.
am not asking for a replacement or wanting it repaired cause i know it is going to happen to all treos sooner or later. i have opened my treo up and have found the problem which i plan to solve by myself.
great device, i love it, would be too good if everything was perfect about it.
by the way, if anyone is interested in the innards of a 180g, here's mine which went under the knife

    2) 2nd speakerphone 3 months later

    3) New replacement issues "Command" key (slash) sometimes when lid is closed.

#1 Out of box - Reset issues, GSM echo at B-party, Memory manager probs, GSM hand-off issues, Overwrite SMS messages caused resets - Support acknowledged known fault(s) & replaced.

    #2 Ok to date

Treo 270 #1 screen baclight died after 2 weeks.
Treo #2 3 days so far, so good.

#1 - 270 backlight dies 5 days into use ... HS ships advance replacement at no charge.

#2 - Working fine ever since (going on 2.5 months now).
  13. #33
Treo 270 #1 -- backlight died after about two weeks.
Treo 270 #2 -- backlight died after about four months. Aaargh.
Treo 270 #3 -- fine after a week or so but I'm not holding my breath.

If this one goes I'm having my money back. Might get a Sharp Zaurus, rather fancy the idea of a Linux PDA.

    180 bought in February

#1 - Bad battery life, might have been okay if I had waited for the first upgrade

#2 - Backlight went bad (it would go on and off if you squeezed the Treo)

#3 - Has worked great, but now the handset speaker is sometimes failing (no sound at all when I make a call).

Is this what people are talking about when they say their speakers died?
