    Thanks for the post.

Hopefully we'll finally see the apps from hp's internal app contest (theres like 450 of them, which would increase the Canadian app store by 10%, or more if you don't count the current 700 books), and perhaps a new bigger hot apps program.

HP is definitely planning a smack down of epic proportions this month. Couple this with their advertising might and celeb connections and webOS will be the "DROID" of 2011*.

*How many people knew of the G1 on T-Mo? Those stealth bomber commercials got everyone's attention. Droids lead to EVO, that leads the next devices and 1.5 years later, 26% marketshare.

Nice, things are finally starting to happen. Add to this the rumors that can be read on German websites (http://forums.precentral.net/future-...good-true.html) and we might be in for a real treat by the end of this quarter!

Nice. Now the CES is done with and I saw the flood of mobile announcements, I can see the genius behind HP/Palm not having much of a presence there. Infact, the wait for Feb9 is much easier for me now.

Here's hoping that what they show makes a big splash and pushes WebOS beyond the competition in many ways.

Amazing how RoverNole was 'crazy' when suggesting a separate event but now it's 'genius'.

Thanks CGK, I thought about rehashing this, below is my final post/response in that thread after pretty much being laughed off these boards by some who insissted HP had to show at CES or they were done. I am just glad they are doing something soon!

I guess we shall see what CES brings us from HP. Whatever it is (I hope its BIG if this is the route), I hope they follow up after CES with more juicy info they hold back from CES, that allows them to be the focus.

Of course, I hope the rollout of the promised devices start within 1 month after CES.

That's also quasi-confirmation that webOS will hit laptops/netbooks at the show too.

Hot Dilema: HP Feb 9 or MWC 2011.? iPad 2 launch Feb 9 ? and HP is circulating a media invitation for MWC 2011 where will show webOS and products at the event. No show stoppers ?

I was wondering if HP will re-schedule the content presentation for Feb 9, and will just announce the webos 2.1 update worldwide and give us some sneak peeks of what they will really BIG announce at MWC 2011 , or HP will just go forward (no show-stoppers, again) and will shoot everything they have once for all?

With the iPad2 launch rumor for Feb 9 , HP and Apple will come with all the arsenal to blow our minds.

I feel like I am making a line to watch a new Star Wars movie in 3D. What a hot dilema.

To be fair to those that said "no", and even "you're crazy" (glad I was in neither category), I think the reason for the respone(s) was that folks were concerned that there would not be enough interest to have a seperate event.

Looks like there is. Even the naysayers are checking out information about the event.

It is all fun to watch.
