CES is FAST approaching. What are the expectations of CES?

I think they will announce/show off the PalmPad and at least one phone (slab?). Both products available in March. OTA update for 2.? on the Pre will be formally announced.

The other linked and important question is what will be under the hood? If HP plans to come out with a bank, will this mean dual core? "just" the new TI chip? Will they follow google and give NFC some love? 4G?

How big will the PalmPad be? If it is 5", then I can't see them doing a 4" slab w/o a keyboard.

The tablet had certainly better be larger than 5 inches. Even 7 inches is way too small. The Galaxy Tab is a joke.

Electronics for sure. Perhaps some gift bags with pens and key chains....

My guess is that HP/Palm goes nuts and announces everything they have. Shock and awe type stuff. The release dates will be scattered throughout the next year or two.

I think they are smart enough to know that nothing short of a supernova is going to do anything for them.

I'm very much doubting we will see anything at all at CES. When they presented the Pre two years ago, teasers were already sent out to press. Until today there is nothing...

rumor already states the palmpad will be 10.1 like the ipad. The 5 inch device your talking about is the mansion, not the tablet. Otherwise I think your on point with what they will announce at CES. Also on a side note, Ive used the galaxy tab for two weeks now, and it is pretty much underwhelming. It is very laggy, and the 7 inch screen is a very big no no. My idea of the Playbook being 7 inch will be a short coming too. I just dont think the market for 7inch tablets towards the main tablet market is going to be much profitable IMO.

Can't imagine they let this opportunity pass without pretty much full disclosure on upcoming phones and tablets...they're already behind in the count as it is...can't give the "take" sign now.
If "If's" and "But's" were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas!

What I expect: tablet and at least one new phone (not counting Pre 2)

What I think will happen: I have no idea

If the PalmPad is their big reveal, and they don't announce any new phones, I'm officially throwing in the towel. I will migrate to whatever new Android device WILL be announced at CES.

I never thought I would be physically drained by supporting a platform, but thats how I am feeling as of late. It is getting harder and harder to defend H/Palm and their actions to my friends, co-workers, family, etc.

I think we are all setting our expectations of Palm at CES so high that we will either be absolutely amazed, or severely disappointed. I fear the latter.

The Galaxy Tab is not a joke, and I think there is a market for a 7 inch tablet. But I believe HP should have a 5 inch (phablet), 7 inch (tablet/video phone) and a 10 incher (tablet/phone).

To the OP, I think we will see the PalmPad 2! Just skip the first gen! LOL jk. Seriously, we will see all devices launching in Q1 2011. We wont see any more then that. So if we have two devices only, we only see two devices. We may not get much specifics though.
