rahul is backtracking quickly on that comment, he's writing a blog post apparently to extrapolate on hardware. stay tuned!
Really, he just needs to keep quiet when it comes to upcoming hardware. He stated that he didn't want to tease us with rumors, that he wasn't going to go down that road. Yet that's exactly what he has been doing. I'd love it if he gave us specifics, but other than that, please stick to espousing the virtues of webOS, and the good devs will get out of it. But leave the hardware talk until you have something concrete to say.

I don't understand the purpose of the line, I don't need to drink to have fun. Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter?

Let's all give thanks to the app that started it all.

IDK, I know a guy that just jumped from Pre to whatever android phone just came to sprint beginning of sep... He's been happy and dling apps like crazy, but only free ones. I guess my point is,how many people on android are only using free apps?

I think I crapped and stepped in it and now he wants to backtrack.

You took the words right out of my mouth and I think by the time Palm releases this new device it might already be outdated...I'm thinking around CES. I'm glad I didn't wait like everyone was saying...every month I would hear wait they going to make an announcement in Sept, Oct, Nov, before the holidays and they are coming out with flash blah blah blah. While I still have my Pre as a dust collector I've been enjoying my Evo with flash since Jun 4 and I can never go back to a 3.1" screen.

And you're probably spending more money on Android apps and taking greater advantage of Google services too.

I think HP doesn't understand that the grass IS greener on the other side and people who switch from WebOS to Android or iOS will actually be happy with their new phones.

I think that Rahul needs to stay of Twitter unless he has real news. This baiting the consumer nonsense needs to stop.

Man, i think this is the first time I've agreed with you about something lol. Android is looking mighty fine right now. I'd settle for a decent OS on great hardware!

Well he11! I get home from work, and this is the first place I log on to check the latest news.

Im a first time smartphone buyer and decided to wait for the latest from Palm. My upgrade came up in April and I've been researching ever since. I finally decided to go with Palm.

But alas, Im not encouraged by this news. Sorry to say, I just don't want to wait any longer. There are just too many options now teasing my wallet. Looks like Im going to move on to other hardware/OS. Maybe I'll check back in 12 months or so....

Too bad to read this today!

Isn't that half the point of a corporate guy tweeting? I mean, a few of us (and by us I mean not me but some crazies) would be excited that he was on his porch reading, making dinner, or jazzercising but honestly, leading us (this time by us I mean everyone posting here) around with carrots hanging from sticks is much more exciting (for him at least).

The skeptic in me tells me they are not going to announce new phone hardware via a blog post. Maybe the WebOS 2.0 time-line? More images of people holding faceless black boxes? The WebOS toaster (finally?!)?
I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.
    Device history: *free feature Phone*x3 -> LG Rumor -> Palm Pre -> HTC Arrive (3days) -> Samsung Nexus S 4G (28 days) -> Samsung Galaxy S II Sprint Epic 4G Touch -> Palm Pre -> Pre 3

If he announces a toaster, it had better be portable.

I don't understand why Rahul Sood's Tweets are making such a humongous flurry here. He said SOON.

By everyone here's arguments, soon means December. By the same argument, soon is vague enough that it could mean tomorrow. Therefore, new hardware is coming day after tomorrow.

Will you all just calm down?

If you wanted to know something like this THAT badly, you could all just pay me to predict the future and I could say "WebOS hardware is not coming anytime soon" and you'd all get hot and bothered, and i'd be rich and correct. If it came out in a week, I would say "Yeah soon meant one week, it's out now that its not soon anymore. Enjoy."

    Seriously, chill.

I want a george foreman grill, running webos.. That would be awesome...

Actually, his tweet said "Not Soon."

not "Soon," which would be the opposite.....

Uh yes, but he's arguing about the definition of soon...does soon mean tomorrow as in "not tomorrow" or December as in "not by December".
  20. #80
    well

no one has posted this yet relating to Rahul's tweet

Palm Devices to be Announced Prior to WP7 Release?

I have to agree that just because he said "soon" is way too vague for any understanding. In my eyes, soon is 2 weeks or less.
