The difference between a US model and the European model is that the US model have 900/1900 and the European model 900/1800, I have a Treo 180 bought in the US and I live in Norway.
So my question is: is this a hardware or a software fix?

Hardware...but you should be able to still use the 900Mhz frequency in Norway I thought..unless you are using 1800Mhz now...

    US is only using 1900Mhz.

Thanks for the information, yes I have been using it here in Norway now for about 4 months without any problem, the way it works here is that if the 900 gets overloaded then it switch over to 1800(I think)!

The question is will GPRS be supported on 900MHz ?

So far I couldn't figure that answer from my service provider (support there has no clue...)

I see no reason why 900 will not support GPRS. By the way 900 is the moist common GSM frequency used worldwide.
