    (Purely hypothetical question :-)
Let's say I'm currently using a Treo 180g, and I'd like to back it up onto my old Palm V. To complicate things, make my serial port unavailable due to "I don't know where the old hotsync cradle is..." Is it possible to sync completely using the infrared ports? Also, wouldn't the treo try to send specialized phone settings that the Palm V wouldn't know what to do with? Oh, and would it be REALLY slow?

I'm curious if there are any interesting solutions to this.

    Thanks,

Yes, IR is very very slow compared to USB...

Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?
