I realize the gist of this New York Times article is about Windows 7 mobile but damn can't they even mention that WebOS exists in this article?

Not every cell article has to mention WebOS - especially since it was related to Mobile World Congress, in which Palm didn't have a presence. Perhaps you shouldn't take it quite so personally.

I guess it just shows how far off the radar Palm still is....and why didn't they have a presence at this MWC?

Well David Pogue is a huge fan of the Pre, so I don't think it's them against Palm.

As the others mentioned, Palm's not even part of MWC. So I wouldn't be too bothered with one article.
