    Hi,

When you get an SMS Treo pushes it to the screen... How can you avaiod this?? SMS messages normally private, If your Treo is on the desk anybody can read it if SMS arrives...

Thats why I need a serious reply: What can you do if your wife watch your SMS what your girlfriend sent...

See this post above in the list in forum!! thats why I asked///

If you turn off Wireless whenever your Treo isn't in your hands, you'll prevent any SMS from getting thru. Then just turn it back on again later, and any SMS's will be transmitted from your service provider.
At least, that's how I understand it.

Does this mean you were just using the GF thing as an example? or can we mock you some more?

    sorry ... I failed "serious."

Ahhh, I thought something more PROFFESIONAL solution... For example any security softvare, if bloody Treo has NOT any option to be set up not push all the SMS to the screen without my permission..

It looks as fif you didn't get the message yet.

The Treo works as expected and the way serious users want it to work. This is an improvement over a normal phone that normally does not have ability to display a complete message on the display.

I wish I had a Treo two years ago at a time that I was receiving upto 20 messages from one of my computer systems every day.

You have already been advised what to do so forget about asking again.

Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?

I know I should avoid jumping on this somewhat moralistic bandwagon, but I cannot resist pointing out that while zsozso chides the respondents for not being professional, it is not entirely professional to be engaging in this type of activity in the workplace on what is presumably, at least partially, a work related tool.

In an attempt to answer this question SERIOUSLY and PROFESSIONALLY, I did a search on "SMS" over at palmgear.

This was the the 58th item returned on the search that was the closest thing I could find that might be helpful:

A serious question Zsolt: Why do you have a girlfriend if you are married?

Have you tried contacting Handspring technical support to see if they can help you? That would be a professional solution. Though you may ant to neglect to inform them of your motivation.

Why do you keep saying "Pushed to the screen," and what does it mean?
  10. #10
Sounds like the incoming message is displayed in real-time instead of a header like in regular email. get a T900, it just displays the headers.

I assume he means that incomming SMS messages are displayed on the screen straight away even if his screen is locked..

    Friends,

Many thanks for your help. To tell the true, maybe thats why I am European and think differently a litle bit, you didnt understand my joke....

I am NOT married, I wanted just point the problem that Treo pushes the SMS to the screen real time when u got it..
This wa a joke that what your wife say when sees your SMS what your girlfriend sent to u and u left ur Treo on the desk.

If some1 didnt understand the JOKE, I m sorry for it. its not my PROBLEM.

but the problem is - in spite of this - I think serious... Its a bloody option that u cannot switch off this function in Treo... Another thing is that thats why PDADEFFENCE and PDASECURE freeze if ur treo is locked....
If ur Treo is locked SMS application shows ur incoming SMS in spite of locking...

So my friends something wrong with this option...

    Hi Zsozso,
I'm european too (despite the fact I live in Sydney) and so are a lot of the other readers... So I don't think that was the reason nobody understood your joke.
Next time you joke it might help if you use smillies (like ) since on the internet nobody can see your expression and people might interprete your words in the wrong way...
To me it seemed like you were serious...

You may not feel like it is your problem, however if you start to open it will become my problem and I wil become your problem! (notice the smiley?)

I don't have a treo yet so I can't replicate your issue. But if PDA Defense/ PDA Secure run this way there is a problem indeed....

Not sure if it is a problem with those programs or with the treo (or more likely the combination of both). Have you tried any other privacy programs?

Also have you tried contacting Handspring and the developers of the software? They may not be aware of the problem an not read this forum... Just complaining here will not solve your problem...
