    These aren't meant to be consumer devices. Just like how Symbol still makes devices that runs Windows CE.
    Palm IIIc -> Sony CLI T650C -> Sony TJ-37 -> Palm TX -> Palm Centro -> Palm Pre Bell -> Palm Pre Plus Bell/Verizon Hybrid -> HP Veer -> HP Pre 3 NA -> BlackBerry Classic -> BlackBerry Priv

    It's a Late Goodbye, such a Late Goodbye.

    The Symbol devices are specialized, with a clearly defined target market. The OP-mentioned device doesn't fit this profile - not at all.

    why not just get a Treo or Centro on eBay? or even a T|X if you don't need a phone. Is there really pent up demand for old-school PDAs? I wonder who they expect to buy these.

    Aceeca makes ruggedized enterprise devices. Regular old legacy palmos devices wouldn't last long in the industries Aceeca is targeting. There are many industries that use old legacy palmos frankengarnet software for various BPO, inventory, etc systems. THese companies have a lot invested in these apps and are not interested in dev new soft just like many companies are still using windows xp! There is definitely a market still in enterprise for these devices...

    Gaurav is correct. If you're a small or medium-sized company and "just" ten years ago spent 20.000 on a custom-written warehouse management solution employing PalmOS devices in some function, you're NOT going to switch away from it just because the customer market has moved away from it; your solution still works, still does what you want it to do, and still uses devices that can be replaced by this one.

    There is a market for a device such as this - it's just a rather small, specialized one.

    Visor Deluxe->Visor Prism/Digital Link->Treo 650->Treo 700p->Pre->GSM Unlocked Pre 2 (wifi only)->FrankenPre + Touchpad 32 ->+ Touchpad 4G ATT + ATT Pre3 + 64 White Touchpad... bliss.

    A company that relies on PalmOS devices at some stage in its productive process, doesn't want to spend tens of thousands of dollars to implement some completely new system, get custom software written, train everybody... and instead wants factory-new PalmOS devices for a few hundred bucks a pop to replace their old and broken ones, which probably cost rather more.

    No consumer is ever going to see one of these on a shelf, but they're gonna sell.

    My company is just that type of customer, although we never spent huge money. We use Symbol SPT series devices extensively, and won't move until we can't get the hardware anymore. Why? Because we're just scanning stock. No need for colour screens or facebook. Also Palm os (pre-garnet) is rock solid and almost ***** proof.
