So, I was jacking around with my phone earlier and entering all kinds of various ## codes just to see if I could find anything. Well I decided to type in ##GPS# just to see what would happen. Sure enough, a screen popped up with a button that said, "Get Fix."

Well, I clicked the button to see what would happen and it brought up some really interesting stuff such as latitude, longitude, velocity, altitude, heading, horizontal accuracy and vertical accuracy. Well, I got even more curious and decided to do a latitude and longitude lookup of the numbers it gave me, and where do they point?

Somewhere in China. I looked up the lat and long on Google maps, and it takes me straight into the mountains in China. Now, either the manufacturer is some secret underground lair in China, or there's something insanely stupid about the GPS tracking on my phone.

    Latitude: 32.71362125873566
    Longitude: 103.14561903476715

Those are the numbers my phone shows...

EDIT: Also, this is what Wikipedia shows about the county that the lat and long point to:

    Mine shows my correct location.

Isn't Hobbs actually Calvin's stuffed tiger? Maybe you aren't in Hobbs, NM but are actually in China. Wouldn't that explain a lot about how you can never understand what people are saying? The chop sticks? The excellent Chinese food?

I bet it is all beginning to make sense now.

    Latitude: 32.71362125873566

    Points to Hobbs, NM

So if you did a hole at your correct ( -) location through the earth, will it take you to the location you thought the phone was from?
