OK, if it's the "Treo", what's the third part? All I can see is two parts: PDA and cell-phone. What's three?

    Data.

To quote the first sentence from c|net's report:
Handspring on Tuesday received regulatory approval for two handhelds that combine cell phone, Web browsing and traditional organizer functions, CNET News.com has learned.

Hmmmm, I would personally include that in with the phone portion. But you're probably right.

That's "Trio," not "Treo"--it's hard to say if there's a meaning to "Treo" or if someone just liked the sound/look of it.

My theory: The Treo looks like a Star Trek communicator, so the name is a play on that.

And in case you're thinking about it, treocentral is already taken.

I think the Treo is 3 parts

    1. PDA
    2. Phone
    3. E-mail, messaging, always on Web, so Wireless Modem

My thoughts and I'm sticking to it.
