When I checked out the VC site last night I noticed the Treo link and took a look at all of the pictures of the new Treo's. There were even some drawings. Can we still look at these or have they been removed for legal reasons.

Check out this thread I would imagine that since the approval was pulled, the pictures were also.

I looked at the pictures, went to read more about it on the discussion board, went back to it 10 minutes later and they were gone.

We were asked by HS to voluntarily remove the images until further notice.

    Thanks,

Thanks Marcus. I understand their concern. Although it sure did help their stock price today.

Marcus, I think in the future you should definitely publish a disclaimer any time an article has been modified as a result of a request made by a company covered in the article. I too wondered what had happened to the pics ... I found that PalmInfoCenter also removed most of theirs; they explained, though, the circumstances that led to removal. It doesn't really instill confidence in a news source's independence when it modifies articles without telling readers that the modifications were motivated by comments from a covered company.

Duly noted. I've updated the article and threw in some of my comments for good measure.

I had used that feature before, but didn't think to use it in this case. As they say on tv "You da man!!" Good thinking!!!

Is that what that weird sentence at the end of the article is supposed to mean?

We have the other pictures from this article at the request of Handspring.

Too bad that it still points to VisorCentral for the pictures which evidently have been removed.

Not last night it didnt. I guess Handspring read my message too and got to google (a search for "treo + handspring" now brings up NO visorcentral page). I saved the page locally, but I will not repost them due to James' decision to pull the pics off this site.

google just caches the page. If the links were pointed to visorcentral.com then the cache page still does that. If you go to the google cached page and right click on the missing images, you'll see the still pull from VC.com. Obviously VC took the images completely out of the site.

Yes, last night it did. Evidently VC hadn't pulled the JPG files down yet at that point.

Somehow I doubt they'd have gone through the trouble since it was unnecessary. Incidentally, the VC news page is the first one it brought up when I searched a minute ago.

I guess Marcus corrected my typo. Sorry about that.
