For some reason I'm finding it impossible to resolve timezone issues between my Palm 680 and our Mac network.

If the timezone is switched off for Perth (automatically drawing time and date from the network) it forwards events to the Mac an hour out.

If timezone is switched on (with daylight saving) the reverse occurs: times on the Treo are an hour out.

I found to my amazement that when I switched on timezone support in iCal, the events coming in from the Treo were set for Casey/Antartica!!!

So far Palm support, and Missing Sync support have been completely incapable of diagnosing the problem ... let alone providing a solution.

As I travel interstate, accurate date/daylight function, etc. is quite important.

Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, any solutions before the Treo becomes an electronic missile?
