Finally Perry is showing vulnerability!!! He is flirting with WM!!! He recently posted a list of his needed apps which opened himself up to my (and others), helpful "join the dark-side" persuasions!!!!

Please help me overpower Perrys love for the palm OS!!! Here is a copy of his needed apps. Ive already posted my sugestions or WM progs for his "on thier way out", palm progs!!! My suggestions are in blue. Can others answer the ones I couldnt or suggest better apps than the ones I mentioned? This is a copy of the PM I sent him earlier.

Diet Assistant Run via StyleTap There are many free diet assistants in WM but also every program I have ever ran in style tap worked great except for programs that need to access hardware such as chatter accessing the radio or palm puke watching the card or accessing the speaker.

Documents to Go 10.0 I dont think this is needed since wm on the handheld and wm on the desktop are kinda the same. I haven't needed docs2go since I switched to WM

    LOL
    You had me at GPS.

    The 700w offered me nothing I wanted over the 700p . . . . . but GPS. . . . you now have my attention !!

Ed C. has said my Palm/LinuxOS Treo 900p is probably 18 months out. . . . .I think that would be my first chance for a Palm Treo with GPS.

Hmmm, GPS now or GPS later?

The pain of changing 10 years of habits and programs vs. having GPS in my Treo now. . . . . .you guys are in for a very ineresting public display of angst.

I was hoping you two would be here when I got back...if not, I wouldn't have stayed Of course, James is on the wrong side of the forum, but I still love him anyway...

Perry, is GPS (not too long from now) so important???

With all the compatible GPS mobile systems available for the Treos??? Hold out for your dream Treo and if it doesn't have GPS (which it might ), add TomTom or Garmin...

    Hi Christina,

I have a Palm/TomTom set up. . . . . but that defeats the whole purpose of a "single device". . . . it has to be Ragu. . . . it has to be in there.

Actually this is just a simple math problem:

Joy of new Toy (has to be >) than the Pain of Change. We will see what happens.

    Cheers, Perry.

In all seriousness, I was standing strong with Perry during the 700p crazy season, but now that I have used the wx w/ StyleTap for a few months, there's really very little I miss.

...googlenerd arrives with 12 loaded Donato's Founder's Favorites (no sausage, add onions) and 2 suitcases of cold Budweiser...there are two kinds of beer he likes Bud and free, don't like those, then BYOB!!!...

What a show!!!! I'm going to be lazy and quaff a "healing potion" or two and watch the fun....

    I'll take 2 of each!!!

Hey Perry,,,, against my better judgment (because of course I want you on my side of the OS battle), (but of course I also want what is best for you), I thought I'd ask if you had tried Google Maps with the My Location option. Its almost as good as REAL GPS for non-GPS devices.

    http://gigaom.com/2007/11/28/google-my-location/

I have GPS built-in on my Kaiser and its awesome. I use it with Microsoft Live Search, Google Maps and TomTom I use it daily but for quick easy info I use Google Maps my location because its fast.
  18. #18
Thanks James, but I don't think the My Location option is available on the Sprint or PalmOS side, as I looked into it.
