I wish! I'm in NYC, so the best we have is J&R.

But I clicked on the "mail" form near the rebates, and Frys (outpost.com) sent me the PDF's via email. Sweet.

Now to convince someone to give my a keychain GPS for Christmas.

Man these maps are huge! How much map data are you putting on your Treo? Any tricks to get the file sizes down? I only have 1.3 gig left on my card.

    "I Sync, therefore I AM!"

BellSouth became Cingular, left for ATT, who became Cingular, who became ATT. Is that right?

Got my M1200 yesterday so I had my SA 2008 and my 700P route me from home to work this morning. It worked well except that the voice prompts were almost inaudible. I had to hold it next to my head to understand what was said. And that was with the radio off and windows rolled up. How can I get more volume? Would that be the system sounds volume?

    Edit:
Found a posting at Delorme that SA HH uses the Palm "System" volume setting. I had that at 3. I put it at the max (7) and will see how that does on the way home. I suspect it won't be that much louder as the change from 3 to 7 in Prefs didn't seem that much louder.

Wow, I may have to try to get an upgrade. My version from SA2007 does
    not have voice prompts.

    I have Street Atlas 2007 Handheld version 1.0 built Jun 6, 2006.

What is the version you have?

I have Street Atlas USA 2008 ver. 8.0.0-F2.3. It does have voice prompts.

I noticed the "handheld version." What is the difference between that and the the regular version? Does that have smaller files for handhelds?

    Thanks!

It may be that "handheld version" is how it was named in 2007. Not sure.

I created 2 maps. The Chicago area map is 25 Meg. The Wisconsin / U.P.
    map is 72 Meg.

    The Palm has
    Street Atlas USA 2008
    Handheld
    (ver 1.0, Built Mar 16 2007)

I'm at work so can't give the exact PC version.

Looking at the Delorme forums I see that others have complained about low volume as well.

I pushed the "System" volume up to the max (7) from my previous 3 and the increase was enough to make the voice prompts usable. I could even have the radio on, although pretty low volume.

I did end up going to Fry's yesterday and picking up SA2008 for $29.99.
They printed the rebate forms out for me right there at the checkout.
Not a bad deal for $9.99 (after rebates). I think yesterday was the last day for the sale price at Fry's.

I have that version, as well. Mine has voice prompts. Yours probably does, too.
    * Stuck patches? Partial erase worked for me.
    * Stuck virtual keyboard? Partial erase AND folder deletion worked for me.

Both versions come in the same package. One is for pc's and one is for your handheld devices, like Treo's. The handheld version is less robust than the full pc version.

For instance, both versions offer voice prompts but the HH version doesn't have text-to-speech.

Good idea. I use VolumeCare with mine.
