I love Palm and Treo products...would not consider using any other smartphone alternative. However, when it comes to stock investment, I recently bought RIMM shares last month even though I would never use (or probably never) a Blackberry product. I also own AAPL shares recently too even though I don't own a single Apple product.

I still kick myself... I hate you.

    (yes, it was a joke...)

I remember having debates on stocks and apple came up... I did not do so bad, I went boeing (which has done ok) but my friend hit the mother load with oil.... I thought that was a little before 2001, but maybe around that time....

But that is the market... let palm release something grand and the stock price will shoot into the roof and I'll be sitting here five years from now saying how I wrote a post about palm's stock but did not buy.

Was apple as poorly run or managed as palm is right now?

Most analysts stay clear of buying palm because rimm is trumping the treo handily. Also, apple has diversified themselves. Palm is heading in the opposite direction - not because they want to, but because they HAVE to, and STILL they can't produce a dominant widget within their SINGLE product offering.

I wouldn't invest in palm unless they showed signs of real effort in true innovation as well as replacements of the ceo and the majority of their personnel.

Buy palm if you want, but be prepared to watch your money sit idle for quite a while. This is not a winning team by any means yet.

Yea man... apple was pretty bad off... management really sucked, like at palm. Heck, don't you remember Bill Gates on the screen at Mac world. My goodness I'll never forget that. It was like walking the gates of heaven and seeing the devil in heaven talking to some angels.

Steve came in turned that company around... Then again, you don't really have the iconic figure like steve at palm.... someone could come in and turn it around though.... the biggest issue they face is how to get some other product lines going... something outside of a phone. The new product not out until late 2008/2009/2010... and it will be a fresh version 1 device... it is going to be buggy as hell (no matter what those linux zealots tell you... as dell found out, zealots lie). Google's phone will be out... more competition from everyone else.

I hope htc or some other company will buy palm... obviously palm is not going under in a puff of smoke... it has a good strong name.

You talk about analysts... who, those same people who told you to sell your apple stock when it was $9 and told you to buy it when it was $100? Those people lie like hell too....
