Have only 19.2 of 62.8 left on my Palm Treo 700p! Was gonna download the new MR but can't seem to free up enough space. Have moved a ton of stuff over to the SD, but it only gave me 19.2 from 11.2. What the heck is eating up all my memory?

    My Treo
    Quick Tour
    Bluetooth
    Calc
    Calender
    Camcorder
    Camera
    Card Info

    Email
    Epocrates
    Explorer
    GoogleMaps
    HotSync
    Memos
    Messaging
    PdaNet
    Phone
    Pics&Videos
    Prefs
    pTunes
    Security
    Sounds
    Tasks
    Voice Memo

You need to get a program like Filez to see what is in your memory. Do a search. The program is free.

yeah. i have Resco Explorer. I've been looking around at what's on my Treo. There's lots of stuff on this thing. Not sure where to start.

In my experience, it's usually safer to apply a ROM update to a freshly hard-reset Treo, and restore everything afterwards.
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

If you use a backup program, like NVBackup that's free, you can backup your device, do a hard reset, run the update, then do a restore from the backup.

thanks. but, how will this resolve the issue of all this used up memory? i still don't know where it has all gone. none of the files or programs on my treo seem to add up to nearly 40MB of space being used.

Bill, from Palm's website regarding the 1.22 update...

"Sprite Backup users: Do not perform a full restore from backups you made before updating your smartphone. If you use the Advanced restore features, do not restore the registry from pre-update backups."

We were talking about Palm-based Treos, not WinMob devices.

You could also try clearing the cache in Blazer and in Google Maps... that can take up a bit of room.... possible check to see how many emails, if any, you have in VersaMail... that can take up a bit of room especially if you have downloaded attachments.... If you delete a message in VM though make sure you 'empty the trash' otherwise you've not cleared up any space...

Got them all stored on the expansion card.

Did this too. Now up to only 27MB of free space.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Any other ideas????
