I don't really care for PalmOS too much, but I'm still hoping that Palm really innovates on the OS to keep it competitive so WM keeps getting better I think at this point everyone knows that Palm's plans (at least before it is acquired at least) include keeping POS as an OS choice, which I think is good for the company and the consumers. A product manager might be instrumental in getting new software patches out faster and the like. But I believe that the integrity of the OS has been compromised due to all of those patches, fixes, and trying to get a 5 yr. old OS act like it's fairly new. I say build the Palm OS back up from scratch and have it natively support all of these things that POS 5 has been hacked to do. Maybe that's what the new product manager will try to do.

I read "Palm OS" as "non WM OS". Colligan not an "all eggs in one basket" kinda guy and everyone knows what MS will do if they have stranglehold.

"Lead the definition, launch, and lifecycle management of a Palm OS Treo" could mean ALP..... could mean Palm's own Linux based version of ALP and a lot of other things other than, of course, WM. Palm's past ads for Linux programmers have me thinking a new Palm OS would have a Linux kernel.

Man... I'd apply for that but I don't have an MBA. Why do they have to require crap like that? Any ***** can get a degree. I actually have the KNOWLEDGE they require but they won't hire me b/c I don't have a piece of paper. BOO!

VeeDub... now that you are in charge... will your new devices use SD or mini/micro SD? CDMA &/or GSM?

At this time, I would epuip the devices with SD slots instead of mini-sds. I've yet to determine if gps features are available for mini's..
I'm also unconvinced that they are, in fact, an improvement over regular sd slots but I'm open to discussion

All four model designs will be available to gsm and cdma carriers, if possible.

If at all possible, no end-user will be limited to one or two treo designs as a result of carrier contract.

My brother has an MBA from Harvard. When he hears a comment like that, he laughs. He'd then ask why you would degrade yourself by saying you are less than an *****?

He'd also tell you that you should never let listed requirements in a job posting stop you from applying, if you believe that your work experience and background will show that you are qualified. In your case you might want to leave out the multiple 15 minute bathroom breaks you take for Treo time.

I find it very odd that Palm has to post this job like it was recruiting graduates from a college!

You'd think that they'll use a top recruitment agency or directly contact some set of people they have in mind for an important position like this...

What prevents them from doing both? Both using an agency and putting something on their website.

you pslm os people had better hope they are posting the position for an internal candidate.

won't it take a while to get the new guy up to speed if they hire externally?
