On my Treo680, I already installed the DST patch and the time seemed to update properly this morning....however, all my appointments show as 1 hr behind.

    Any ideas?

Windows users: The software on this page will only update your Palm device. Before you install the Daylight Saving Time Update, you may need to install two Microsoft updates in order for your system to reflect the DST rule changes.

    What does this update do?

    * Replaces the old DST rule with new DST rule on your smartphone or handheld. Then it notifies the Date & Time application that DST rule change occurred.
    * Replaces the old DST rule embedded in any Calendar events that occur after March 11, 2007 (when the DST change begins). This allows events within the DST rule change window to remain at their original times.

I noticed some wonkiness in my Outlook calendar as well, and even appointment durations not matching. It may be a Microsoft problem.

    Actually,

My outlook Calendar is fine. It is just the Palm Calendar that shows appointments March 11 and beyond to be behind by 1 hr.

Before I try to resync my palm Calendar with Outlook (using Moxsi ExchangeSync) , I want to understand what happened.

There was a note from Palm saying that some appointments up to April 1 might be off. Strange that on the 700p all my appointments reflect the correct time even before April 1st. I don't use outlook though.

    From http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/dst_palmos.html

"I have run the update and noticed that my appointments are 1 hour off. I set the system date as March 15 (3/15) and they are still running 1 hour off. "

"The Microsoft DST2007 update does two things:
    * Change the DST rule.
    * Add Tijuana, Baja California time zone for those in Mexico who are in PST zone, but donít observe DST.

Time shift during this period occurs because the DST rule update on the device happened correctly. However, the old rules embedded in the calendar events are not updated by the update. Synchronizing with Microsoft Outlook should resolve this correctly. Install to the PC the Windows OS DST update, and run Time zone update tool from Microsoft, then sync the device to correct the time shift. "

No problems here with the DST update. Everything is showing the right time.

I synch wirelessly with Exchange Server, so I took the extra step of wiping out my calendar on my 650 right after applying the DST update, and then re-synching everything over. No problems here.

Everything okay with me on my Sprint 700p, even without the update. That was sure one big false alarm! We're all still alive!

Wait until April 1st to see if you jump ahead another hour.....

Turns out eventhough I'd made the updates on two Treos and two PC, I still had some appointments shift an hour. This happened on only one of the Treos and one of the PCs (sync pairs) while the other Treo has no problems. Also, not all the appointments in the 3/11-4/1 window were shifted, only some of them. Not sure why the difference.

All right. I wiped my Palm Calendar clean and re-synced with Outlook. I think everything is back to normal now. So much the the Palm DST patch.

That was a good way to solve it!

Difference may be repeating events with start date outside DST parameters.

I have a Sprint 700p, and installed the update. I hotsync every weekday.

Appointments on my Treo's calendar app are correct. Bu appointments on my Palm Desktop's calendar app are 1 hour later than they should be.

I'm thinking of doing one hotsync where I set the calendar conduit to "handheld overwrites desktop." Any thoughts?

Update: now it seems that some events are the proper time, some are not. The problem is I have no way of knowing which are correct.

I haven't tried my hotsync idea yet -- wondering what people think first.

I did what they said.....waited until our IT guys installed the Microsoft update, then installed the DST Palm update, then synced. It has worked exactly perfectly. The only weird thing was that before they even installed anything, my Outlook calendar on my desktop showed wrong times for a day, then corrected....and the IT guys said they didn't do anything. I think part of these inconsistencies have to do with auto updates from MS.....

I has to do a soft reset after installing the DST fix as I did not notice any change. After the soft resetonly one appointment was off.

    That is not too bad.
