I've maintained a family website for several years
where relatives can request/download ringtones for
their Sprint phones (all *.qcp files). I'm a new
owner of a Treo 700p, so naturally I wanted to
be able to have the same ability with AAC files.

The kicker was having to set up a proper .gcd
file. The stanza below allows you to download
and install a AAC ringtone to a Treo 700p.

    Code:
    Content-Type: audio/mp4
    Content-Name: XXX
    Content-Version: 1.0
    Content-Folder: Ringers
    Content-Vendor: Your Org
    Content-URL: http://www.yoursite.com/m4a/file.m4a
    Content-Size: 39052
    Hope this helps someone else.

That http reference wasn't meant to be clickable. It's a line that goes into a text file of type gcd. This link: http://www.elkins.org/treo.html does work. It points to a gcd file on my server that when clicked from your Treo, should download the Tarzan Yell as a ringtone.
