I am encoding DVD's to watch on my treo. Of course I am trying to keep the file size as small as possible
    25fps
    320x240
    80kbs audio
    270 kps total
    2 pass

but I am trying to decide if I should use ffmpeg or xvid to encode?
Which produces better quality at this small size?
I am using a MAC and thus HANDBRAKE to do this.

    Thanks for the help.

Isn't NTSC dvd 24fps. TV is 30fps right? I'd be curious to see your results on 2 pass vs 1 pass. My initial thoughts are that 2 pass is overkill esp for going to 320x240 but the details you get with 2 pass may be worth it. Also why 270 kbps total?

Let us know how it goes.
