    Programs like LudusP provide easy access to the command line prompt.

    I'm curious as to why this is helpful...

    Here are some responses from another thread:

    Such fields are most often found on certain applications' registration screens; I keep my registration numbers in a database and prefer to copy/paste. And sometimes an application is just badly written (or in beta) and the ability to access the edit menu for a certain screen was left out in error.
    What field are you pasting something into? Why?

    If I hold down my menu button long enough, the command bar comes up. Is this built in functionality or does it come from programs I have installed such as FieldPlus?

    It's also an option in Butler.

    A "blast from the past"

    http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fu...rREF=&siteid=1

    This product was created for Handspring/palmOne Treo 600, Treo 650, and Treo 700p only. It will not work on other devices than Treo 600, Treo 650, or Treo 700p.

    Command bar is an important Palm OS feature that is missing on the Treo devices for no apparent reason.

    Now you can use it again!

    Depending on your preferences, use any of the following Menu key combinations to popup the command bar:

    * Menu press-and-hold
    * Option+Menu
    * Shift+Menu

    RNS:: TreoCommandBar is a Preferences panel, which means its icon is not displayed among other applications (in a launcher), but it shows up as a new panel in the Palm OS preferences (the "Prefs" application).
