I am suprised no mods have stepped in to ban people on this thread. I also did not realize how many people here are sprint customers waiting for this device to be released. If it "happens" to be WM5, How many of you guys will still plan on getting it?

    Why would they ban?

Just my prediction (please do not crucify me for this).

We will see the Sprint Treo 700p sometime in the next couple months. We have all seen the pictures. I am not worrying about it not coming out.

It makes sense for Sprint to call their Treo 700 for Windows the Treo 700i. This is to differentiate it from Verizonís Treo 700w. I am sure we will see the Sprint Treo 700i as soon as the exclusivity agreement with Verizon on their Treo 700w. Probably sometime in June.

    Just my predictions.

If the Sprint release is WM5 (a 700W), I will pass -- my PalmOS application library, 10 years of PalmOS know how and 320x320 screen trump getting EV-DO. I guess I would wait until Palm/Linux. If that becomes vaporware -- I will not have a choice between competing OSs and will have to eventually migrate.

However, this is all moot. The 700P will be out on Sprint 5/28/06.

    Cheers, Perry.

    This is some funny ****.

    This happend last night.

I went to Q.S. Mall (oklahoma city) and happend to walk by a Sprint store, just for ****s and giggles I went in and asked "I heard that Sprint will be getting a new treo, do you know anything about that?"
This guy had all the answers and he could confirm my dates...

I stepped around the counter to look at his computer screen, he was reading me my own information I posted right here in treocentral!

I thought it was funny, had to share.

    Hi aenigma !!

Maybe it's both devices in June, the 700P and the 700W. I still lean towards it only being the PalmOS 700P with the 700W coming later down the line.. . . . .

As far as a name 700i for the WM5 version on Sprint, when it comes. . . . . I am not sure why they would do that given they didn't name the 650's differently. All their tech and sales people need to know is that it is a Sprint branded 700W -- that is enough differentiation to keep it distinct from a Verizon branded 700W.

    Just one man's opinion.. . . .

    Cheers, Perry.

This one time, at the Sprint store, I asked the rep, about the 700P, and he showed me my own information, it was so funny, we all laughed.

Just like the time I asked a cingular rep about the 700P for sprint and he told me to go talk to myself. Had a great time talking about the Nextel 700P vs the PPC 6969 for verizon.
