"More good news for those of you who like a swift pint or two: beer doesn't just fight cancer and make you clever but also blocks "interferon-gamma-induced chemical processes".

This is a good thing, trust us, because what the Innsbruck Medical University team behind this revelation has shown - in layman's terms - is that beer offers a resultant anti-inflammatory effect which may have a "beneficial impact on coronary heart diseases".

But not too much. Excessive alcohol consumption over many years isn't a way to fight heart disease. Its more likely to give you steatosis, alcoholic hepatitis and/or cirrhosis.

Of course I'm more likely to remember the former the next time I belly up to the bar.

I am not allowed to have two beers....wife says no.

    -1 beer....ok
-2 beers and I start getting all sorts of ideas in my head and chase her around the house
-3 beers, I fall asleep and leave her alone.
