I've only been trying it for a couple of weeks, but Verizon's EVDO connections have been very reliable for me. I'm sure this can vary depending on where you are.

That said, my perfect device would be a Palm OS (Cobalt if it worked the way they said, although I guess it didn't), thin, 320x320 screen minimum, 64MB ram, 3G GSM data, wifi would be nice but not required. Unfortunately I'm not expecting this to ever become reality from the sounds of some of the rumors.

FYI, your keyboard is stuck in all caps. You should get this fixed.

This very thing happens to me all the time, and its frustrating as all get out.
I would have to agree with you....provided you don't have Dwight Yocum announcing your calls. I use TomTom and it would get quite old if that kept happening to me whenever a call came in. But if a dude/dudette is running TomTom, with Butler doing its thing, an mail program asking for e-mail updates every 3 minutes, P-Tunes running and then RingoPro has trouble handling his/her ringtone when the phone rings, well than he/she should get a BB until ALP gets out and stable.

Chatter can connect to OWA -- check it out. www.chatteremail.com

The developer dropped the OWA connect module for a bit, but now he's supporting it in a new version coming soon. The old version still works as well.

    2. 1.3 megapixel camera vs. 0.3
    4. Better Bluetooth
    5. Fat32 capability for larger than 2GB SD cards for us "iPoders"
    6. Faster Blazer?
    7. Other software tweaks?

Larger memory stacks for greater stability.

Lets see, SonyEricsson P990 will give you:

    1. UTMS +WiFi
    2. 80Mb
    3. 2mpix (rumored 3mpix for final relelease version).
    4. Bluetooth 2.0 with stereo support.
    5. Up to 4gb already released MSpro duo.
    6. Opera 8.
    7. Skype? Voip? 7 Push mail services? FM radio?

And that is for the same dimensions/weight (removing the stupid flip).

And more important the features are NOT a rumour are clearly a fact (see CeBit in Hannover from tomorrow or 3GSM in Barcelona a fortnight ago).

On top of this, you have Samsung, BenqSiemens, Nokia, HTC and others releasing interesting models.... I really thing that Palm is loosing the race unless they move fast. No wonder why they dont have big sells here in Europe.

By the way, I am not SonyEricsson Advocate - never owned one - I've had Treos since 270 including both 600 and 650 and just moved into Qtek9100 few months ago (love Skype+Wifi, but unfortunately my fears become real with WM5, as slow and buggy as I was expecting).

Looking forward for a new cutting edge device before the summer, but it seems that is not going to be from Palm.

I'm a life long user of Orange, but the sooner Palm dumps the exclusive deal with Orange and let the other Networks sell their smart phones, the sooner Palm will see greater sales in Europe
    Thought of the day :
No sense being pessimistic, it probably wouldn't work anyway

The reviews I have seen for this have been inconsistent...one 3 page review made no mention of 3G at all, no mention of UTMS....another indicated it ahd ni 850 band making it problematic for a US launch. I like it's capabilities and like the absence of WM5 bit 1st quarter is 22 days from being over and we should be seeing firmer / more consistent details on this.

I talked to my companies Cingular rep and he said that Cingular has gotten really beat up over the 650 with a ton of returns/exchanges. 3Q06 to 4Q06 Cingular is going to launch a WM5 version of the Treo with UTMS. He seemed pretty positive about it stating that issues Verizon was having with the 700W made them push back a Summer release.

I for one could care less about a 700P and am going to sit tight with my functionaing "most" of the time 650 until the GSM WM5 Treo is released.

I heard a little joke the other day which would appear to answer the question posed in this thread title.

A dude is in the drugstore picking up hs viagra subscription when the druggist jokingly asks "So is this for your wife or your mistress".... the dude answers....."My wife, I don't need Viagra when I am with my mistress."
