I have converted a portion of an .mp3 song to .wav with Audacity to use as a ringtone. No problem - I can load it and use it and everything. But I can't get the file size down - I've selected 8bit PCM for my output file which makes it a little smaller, but not small enough for a 30 second sound bite.
What do I need to do to smallerize this file?

Change the frequency from like 44Khz, 16Bit, Stereo to 22Khz, 8bit, Mono

That cut it down quite a bit, thanks. The other think I had to do was decrease the final sound bite to about 5 seconds.
