Saw "Date Movie" today and out of the blue there was a great Treo650 reference.

The groom says he'll send some information to the bride's blackberry and she turns to the camera and says "But I have T-Mobile Sidekick" and her mother says "You can use my Treo650"

The above is from memory so I might be a little off, but it was pretty random and very funny...

Out of curiosity, how was the rest of the movie?

Um...it was o.k. It is meant to be a spoof of Romantic movies in the same way that Scary Movie is a spoof of horror movies. Date movie is definitely cruder than the Scary Movie series, but not quite as crude as There is something about Mary.

That's not surprising. You can see Treos everywhere now. Kind of lost its "WOW" factor. I like having the newest groundbreaking gadget on the market. The Treo 650 is now so affordable, many junior high students have them. We haven't see an upgrade in over a year, and these forums are becoming more and more bland by the day. I love the Treo & it is by far the best pda/phone on the market. But I hate the fact that a year and a half ago this time if I pulled out my treo in a public place everybody within 5 meters would hover around asking me what it is and what it does. Now they have theirs out before mine even rings. Come on Palm step it up. This tech guru needs something to leap ahead of the pack. This is exactly how consumers are lost to the competition. A company creates something that gives them a comfortable revenue & the ingenuity, foresight, and drive to stay ahead stops. This is why Microsoft is and will remain number 1. Bill Gates is a beast, and a tech genius who thrives to stay ahead.

I use to think "Howard the Duck" was the worst movie known to G*d and Man, but I now stand corrected. "Date Movie" takes the cake :\

Is it customary to post whenever we see anyone in the media with a phone that we use?

It used to be when no one had one. Now, as thomasanderson said, they are all over the place and it's really no big deal. When I see one and the keyboard lights are off, I think that's pretty cool. Otherwise, Treo sightings are a big yawn.

You guys are pretty funny! Yes, I too have noticed many people running around the streets with Treos. So the wow factor is pretty much gone.

However, if someone asks me to show them something cool about my Treo, I'll do something like play the entire Star Wars movie...or better yet (for guys) some good p@rn movie action! This always gets attention! The average run of the mill Treo user cannot figure out how to play movies on their Treo...so this is still rather unique...for now at least.

I haven't seen Howard the Duck...but it can't be much worse than "A Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy". I'm a sci-fi fan, so this movie was purely a joke. At least I only paid for the video rental...I'd be more uptight if I paid for a movie theater ticket.

I still like my treo... even if it was in the worst movie of this year
