I love the Treo 650 except for it turns the phone off sometimes. I've missed important phone calls because of that. I won't know it's off until I go to make a phone call later, and I get the "Phone is off. Do you want to turn it on?" message. Duh! That's why I carry a cell phone! So it can BE ON! Geeze, does anybody know of a way to prevent the dang phone from turning itself off?

If it is a GSM phone, get a new SIM tray. Search here for "SIM tray" for details.

    3. One end of the SIM tray curves inward. On this end, if a bar or "rib" crosses the tray, your tray is the new style. The old style does not have this rib. If your SIM tray looks like the old style, you may need a new one.
My phone is only two months old. Why would the SIM tray need replacing?

P.S., I don't know what GSM means. My service is with Verizon.

Your phone does not use a SIM. Those are for Cingular and T-mobile customers.

My suggestion does not apply to you.

I recommend a hard reset to help identify the source of the problem. A hard reset deletes all data and 3rd party software from the phone. If the problem persists, it is a hardware problem. Get your phone exchanged.

If the problem goes away, install your 3rd party programs one by one, testing all the time for re-appearance of the problem.

Hard reset (and other types of resets) are described here:

I did a hard reset after my pda froze. I think I was running conflicting hacks. As you said, I lost all elective internal data. Phone seems fine now. Need to be careful with those hacks. Thanks.
