I searched but could not find if someone had a list of tips to reduce battery drain for travel, particularly on planes - my Treo 650 doesn't do well coast to coast.

    Any suggestions or references?

    Thx guys.

    two quickies.
I turn the "auto off" to 2 mins from 3.
    Turn off the "beam receive"
I'm sure others will chime in w/more suggestions.
    Good Luck

turn off the radio (obviously) since you're in the air; dim the screen as much as possible

Not only is this a airline requirement -- but anytime the Treo cannot "find" service (not much at 35,000 feet) it will continue to search for service and drain the battery very fast! So, also, be aware of service levels in new areas you are visiting and turn the radio off in zero service areas.

A 2200 mAh battery will give you up to 30-35% longer service. See the discussion in this thread:

Carry a compact wall charger. You can plug in at the airport while you are waiting or in offices you visit.

If you browse the web, use skweezer.com or this:

These will remove the clutter and reduce download times and battery usage.

    Dim your screen setting.

(And, if all else fails; when a day trip turned into an overnighter and I had left my wall charger home -- I stopped into the closest Sprint Store and recharged my Treo 650 at their display.)

    Cheers, Perry
