And yes, I've searched this forum prior to posting.

Apperantly, I'm hard of hearing and have to press my brand new 650 up to my ear like nuts to hear phone calls well. I'm used to a smaller phone that I can dig into my ear canal. Anyway, it seems that when I use the phone normally, the 12 guage hoop on my ear puts my callers on hold. Either that or it's my sideburns. I can't tell. So is there a way to avoid this, through a preference somewhere or a mod?

I've searched through the menus and whatnot, searched this forum, etc... you all have been a big help, not to mention justification for dropping $300 right before Christmas... so could you help a brotha out now? Thanks...

Also, any general apps recommendations would be appreciated! I'm new!

Launch the Preferences app, Keyguard / "Disable touchscreen when: On a call".
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

try VolumeCare - it should help raise the volume so you don't need to press the phone so hard to your ear...

Now that I think about it, the 'Deactivate Touchscreen' preference is not a good choice for me. If I do that, I lose the ability to use speakersphone. Isn't that right?

Not at all; the 5way pad can navigate to and select anything on the screen.
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

Told ya I was a noob. Thanks for the help. I'm normally very effective in determining the functionality of gadgets and software, but there's just so much on the Treo. I'm overclocked.

    Are these trials?

Yes, I think so. I got the full release, and in the about tab, it has a place for a license number. I don't know about the terms of evaluation, whether it deactivates, etc.
