Hi all,
Just thought I'd post a tip for those interested about ordering of JustType's "Search Using..." list.

As Enyo can't reorder lists but Mojo can, if you extract the com.palm.app.searchpreferences from a mojo webosdoctor, and change the appinfo.json to:

{
"title": "Just Type Preferences Mojo",
"type": "web",
"main": "index.html",
"id": "com.palm.app.searchpreferencesmojo",
"icon": "icon.png",
"splashicon": "icon-256x256.png",
"noWindow":true,
"visible": true,
"version": "1.0.0",
"vendor": "Palm"
}

and then package and install onto your Touchpad, you'll be able to use the Mojo version to reorder.

Unfortunately there seems to be a bug in the system that allows you to, but doesn't save, the reordering of the Quick Actions, but this is at least better than nothing.

If someone wants to create a new app that allows for reordering of all lists, then please bring it on :D

Warning: It is important to change the appinfo.json as above, otherwise this new version appear to overwrite the Enyo version, and you won't be able to remove it from the launcher.
I hold no responsibility for systems that are screwed using this technique.
So if there's a fellow person in the Washington DC/NVA area who's saddened by missing all of the things that seem to happen everywhere but here... ;)

I'd pick it up, but I've moved on and want to try to snag a Windows Phone or something new (WP is pretty much the last major OS left on my list, except maybe Symbian.) (and I was kinda burned with a lemon of an HTC HD2 earlier, but hey, live and learn)

I just installed Zcorder on my Pre Plus, and it occurred to me I'd want to delete any/all files not needed. I've looked around for a file manager, and have seen Internalz Pro in Preware, with reference to an earlier simpler version just called Internalz File Manager, and stating that it's in the App Catalog.

Doesn't seem to be in the App Catalog, and other documentation I'm able to find seems to indicate you have to have webOS 2.1 on your device to use it.

So is there any utility one can use with webOS 1.4.5.1 to delete files (other than hooking it up to a computer)? Thanks in advance.

This company set out to build the smallest smartphone in the world (55gr) and they didn't really take off with it. Anyway, much like the Touchpad, this cool little gadget is now on fire sale and sold for 28$ and is great as a spare/emergency phone or even as a device you would take dancing and you don't want anything big and heavy in your pockets!

As we all know, webOS is severely lacking in the photo viewing (and editing) dept. I've been living w/ it but it proved to be a very frustrating thing earlier. I copied some png and jpg files from a server to the Pre3 and left for a meeting. When I tried to present the files they opened but the majority would not zoom to anything that was viewable. The Photos app, while smooth, was a mess and couldn't handle the files. Internalz Pro, fared no better. I got around that by sharing the Pre on a network and looking at them from a laptop. The problem files were all over 3000 pixels high, some as much as 8000.

As a test, I opened an editor and cropped a pic into three 1000 px files and viola! They all displayed and zoomed perfectly. I even sent the large originals to my faithful Palm Tungsten T3 (a 10-year-old PDA) and Resco Viewer had no problem viewing them.

Now we've been through the why and how so Im not going to waste time on that. I need some sort of solution and in thinking things through, the thought of using the Pre browser came to me. I recall viewing decent sized pics from the browser on occasion. My question is whether it also has a size limit or shares the same photo rendering engine as the photo app (I doubt since its Webkit).

If anyone has tried viewing large files (4k x 4k or larger) and zooming w/ the web browser please report on your experience. I'm thinking about installing Lighty web server and serving up the pics to view from the browser.

Are there options that Im not aware of or things that Im overlooking? Theres a photo-editing app by Metaview Soft - ImageWorkerPro - but Im not familiar w/ it. Can anyone say whether it supports decent viewing and zooming?

Thx for helping out.

Hi all! I'm having a lot of trouble with the app catalog at the moment; every time I try and go in to the app catalog's preferences I get an error message. I tried erasing my touchpad and trying again and I think I know what the problem is: the app catalog is not letting me choose a region and is therefore defaulting to 'other' (since you can't download paid apps under 'other', it'd make sense that you can't get in to billing settings).

So I tried full resetting my touchpad for a second time but every time I open the app catalog, it shows the 'choose region' page loading but goes to terms and conditions instead, and when I agree to the terms, it completely skips over the option to choose my region. I also tried declining them to see if it would take me to the 'choose region' page but it just closes the app.

If someone could help me, that'd be great! Because I am thoroughly confused.

(Also, sorry if this isn't the proper forum for my question!~)

The last posts for Verizon plans seem to be a couple of years old, so I'm asking for some newbie advice.

I'm looking for options for Verizon plans to keep costs down as much as possible.

I like the looks of the preplan released on April 12, 2013 for $35/mo and 500 minutes. Although this will replace my landline, I don't expect to average more than 500 talk minutes. (I haven't factored in minutes used on tollfree numbers.... that now will not be 'free'). I don't text now, and don't expect to text a lot. I'd like to surf, but I believe that 4Gb will probably be fine and 2Gb should be adequate.

I expect to use Wifi for 'free' surfing, but can I use it for voice? (I don't know anyone who is on Skype.)

Also, what's today's status for Google Voice? What do I gain from SynerGV ?

But my main consideration is reducing costs... what is everyone's experience and opinion?

Thanks.

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about getting a veer (as the title says ha). I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S3, and I know it seems weird to switch to an older phone, but I'm in a pinch and need to sell my phone for money for college, so I'm looking for a good phone to get me by. The last time I've had a webOS phone was like 3 years ago, and I had the Palm Pre Plus.

So here's what I do with my phone currently. I use Pandora, Facebook, Twitter and email. Those are my only apps (I'm a lightweight). I also use my phone to listen to music in the car via aux cable. That's all I really do. I've been trying to find some reviews about the phone, and I came across good and bad, but those reviews were 2 years ago, and I didn't know how the veer stacks up now.

So my questions are: Does the veer get good battery life? Picture quality good? Is there a map app for direction? Does the sound coming from the veer via aux sound good and not distorted? How about call quality?

Also, are there any other things I should know like issues about the phone? I think I might really like this phone since spec-wise seems good, and it's super cheap! Please fill me in! Thanks community!
