Default When did Sprint Raise their Unlimited Data Prices?

A co-worker just pointed out that the Sprint unlimited data is now advertised at $79.99 a month. Their unlimited 450 plan is $89.99 plus the $10 premium data add on for a total of $99.99 before taxes.

When the Pre came out, wasn't it $69.99 + $10 premium data for a total of $79.99? When did they tack on $20?

I am not seeing those prices. Unlimited 450 is $69.99 +$10 premium. 900 is 89, unlimited minutes is 99.

Here is what I see. Perhaps I'm getting the fine print confused. It looks like the fine print says $89.99 + $10. Maybe my eyes are going? Could that be a $69.99, and they're just (finally) showing the total price with the $10 premium data plan?

They started this aroundr the EVO (1st 4G phone on Sprint network) came out. They charged an extra $10 for anyone who got a 4G phone regardless of whether you lived in a 4G area or not. After a short while, they switched from saying it was $10 for 4G and just said it was $10 for any smart phone. When I called to bug them about this, they said even at 3G, it was a "better user experience."

So it has been 1 to 1 1/2 years since they started it. They did grandfather in older phones like the Pre-. I was at $69.99 (450 min, unlimited plan) but when I switched to a family plan-whom I got the Samsung Epic-they added 1 $10 surcharge for his phone on the plan.

The change to get rid of the premier plans has happened more recently.

Need to adjust your glasses. The fine print says that it's $69.99 + $10, which makes the $79.99 you see in the large bold print.
